CFB Petawawa and the Petawawa Military Family Resource Centre have partnered together to provide enhanced deployment services to the children and families at participating schools.
- As a key component to this six session program your children will be learning a variety of stress management and positive living skills to help them cope with deployment stress. The programs being used have been validated and have proven effective in helping children to manage their own stress. The enhanced program also allows for one-on-one support if your children requires.
- We provide outreach to your family by providing support, resources, and referral to your family.
- We provide support to the participating schools including:
- on-sight support during a critical incident
- providing resources to teaching and support staff
- supporting children who are returning to school after a critical incident
- and any other support as required.
As a member of the Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT), the Coordinator of this program will be available to support schools that are involved. If there is a critical event that involves children from a non-participating school every effort will be made to ensure that the school receives support.
