- School Based Deployment Support
- Peer group support is available to help your children in a number of the local schools. We provide support during a critical incident, provision of resources to teaching and support staff, support children who are transitioning back to school after a critical incident, and any other support as required.

- Community Outreach and Deployment Awareness
- Our team provides information workshops and presentations regarding available resources and services during periods of deployment. Briefings occur prior to deployment, mid-tour and a month prior to return addressing the topic of reintegration. Our new Family Readiness Program designed to help you and your family be ready for separation or emergencies regardless of whether you are actually impacted by deployment currently or not. We also produce a regular newsletter Op Keep In Touch, and Tour Times in our local newspaper.

- Prevention, Support & Intervention (PSI) Program at the Petawawa Military Family Resource Centre (PMFRC) can help partners, children and friends of military members through the tough times, offering many services. Confidential support for the partners, children and friends of military members who are experiencing stressful situations. Support for things like parenting, loneliness, depression, relationships, health, abuse, employment, violence, money, housing, alcohol and substance abuse, or any topic you would care to discuss.

- Emergency Child Care Services
- Preparing for everyday childcare can be difficult at the best of times. Imagine the stress you will face when you find yourself trying to find a caregiver for an emergency situation. Visit with the Emergency Childcare Coordinator at the PMFRC, to find out how you can enhance your existing childcare plans. There is enough to worry about when taking care of a growing family, having a good childcare plan will surely lessen some of that worry and stress.

- Childcare
- Formal Childcare Services are avaiable for your children (0 - 6 years old) on a casual basis in two locations within Petawawa. If you need to run errands, attend appointments or just take time for yourself, you will appreciate this service which provides occasional care for children from 8am to 4 pm. Services are located both at the South Side Community Centre (Mon, Wed and Fri) and at the North Side PMFRC (Mon – Fri).

- Volunteer Services
- Volunteering is a great way to pass the time when you have a loved one who is overseas. Our Volunteer Services Team are always looking for individuals to join the PMFRC volunteer team. You can help out in so many valuable and rewarding ways.
To become a volunteer with the PMFRC you must attend a brief 2 hour orientation session. Besides personal fulfillment, other benefits of volunteering include free childcare while your volunteering
