Short-term Intervention and Crisis Support
We all go through tough times, and every now and then, we need that extra helping hand. Our services provide confidential support for partners, children and parents of military members. Support is available for any topic you need to discuss, such as parenting challenges, isolation, mental health concerns, relationship breakdown, abuse, substance use or problem-solving support. Confidentiality and discretion is assured.
Education, Prevention & Self-Help Groups
A variety of opportunities are available to help families manage the day-to-day challenges of military lifestyle. We provide preventive and educational programs for adults to enhance personal growth, skill development and community integration. Services include: English and French self-help groups, pre-natal nutrition programs, support for families who have special needs and life skills workshops.
Offered in partnership with the Renfrew County & District Health Unit are
prenatal education courses, well-baby drop-ins, child health, sexual health and immunization clinics.
Military Families with Special Needs and Responsibility
If you have a child, a spouse, or an aging family member with special needs a website and web tool is available to military families throughout Canada at www.familynavigator.ca. It helps families find extra supports and resources - and is part of the larger effort called “The Navigator Program - Helping Families with Special Needs and Responsibilities”.
Assessment and Referral
Through referrals to community and military support agencies we continually strive to connect military families to the resources they need. A resource library is also available to the community. It includes books, pamphlets and videos on several topics, such as parenting, relationships and financial issues.
