We know that having a close friend and a supportive community can make a world of difference to people dealing with an overwhelming situation. Let’s face it - this is a unique and at times overwhelming lifestyle. Hence, it is crucial that we all watch out for each other. If you have friends turning to you with their problems and you are concerned about their well being please:

  • Offer a friendly, listening ear
  • Keep the number for the Canadian Forces Member Assistance Program handy, so that when those who need support beyond what you can provide, they can call CFMAP for confidential support, 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. See below for details. 1-800-268-7708
  • Encourage them to speak to a professional from the PMFRC, who can provide them with short-term support and referrals to other community resources. Our Crisis Intervention Worker is available at 613-687-1641 ext 2224
  • View other community help-lines and resources by clicking on our resources page.
  • You are important too!! Make sure you take care of yourself!
