Not sure of the ins and outs of the health programs in our area? The Renfrew County and District Health Unit provides some wonderful public programming to help individuals and families. All clinics are run by Public Health Nurses. If Petawawa is not your closest location, be sure to check their web site for locations closest to you. http://www.rcdhu.com/

Child Health Clinic - 4th Tuesday Monthly

This Child Health Care Clinic covers dental, development, speech, vision, growth, immunization and general child health. Stop in at the Child Health Clinic for a check-up and enjoy the Parent & Tot Support Group with your child.Prevention & Education Programmer

Immunization Clinic - 2nd Thursday, 4th Tuesday monthly
A Public Health Nurse is available to provide vaccinations and update immunization charts. Appointments are required, please register in advance. French service is available upon request. Clinics are 2nd Thursday monthly, 10 - 11:30 am & 1:30 – 3 pm at the PMFRC North Side Annex, and the 4th Tuesday of the month from 1:30 – 3:00 pm at the South Side Community Centre.

This series of workshops offers extensive education and awareness to help prepare expecting parents. Pre-registration is required.

Parent & Tot Support Group - Every Wednesday
Are you a parent of a little one? Here is a great opportunity to meet other young parents to learn about your baby and receive support. It is an opportunity for you to: measure height & weight of your baby/tot, gain support from other members in the group by sharing experiences and ideas. A Public Health Nurse is present to discuss issues regarding you and your baby: nutrition and breastfeeding, parenting issues, growth and development. Join us every Wednesday - 1:30 pm to 3 pm alternating between the PMFRC North Side Annex, and the South Side Community Centre. Check our online calendar for the next time and location. Please feel free to drop in when it is convenient for you. Registration is not required.

Sexual Health Centre - Last Monday Monthly
While it is not always an easy topic to discuss, sex is an important one. Don't be shy! This is a great source for you to receive one-on-one confidential information that is open to military and civilian individuals. Healthy sexuality is about more than just sex – discuss relationships, decision making, STD’s, low cost birth control and pregnancy testing and counseling. Register for each session, which is held the last Monday monthly, 1:30 – 3 pm at the South Side Community Centre.
