What’s NEW with Volunteer Services?

Hello everyone! As I am writing this early, I hope that by distribution time we are experiencing more sunny days and less snow. This winter has seemed endless!

On February 12, Sherry and Michelle went on a road trip! We spent the day at the Kingston Military Family Resource Centre with one of the Volunteer Services Coordinators. After touring their amazing facility we sat down for a discussion about the commonalities and differences between our 2 volunteer programs! We exchanged ideas and had a wonderful time! If you’re posted to Kingston, call Holly or Kim for information on how to become a part of their team!

Volunteer Appreciation Night is COMING!

It’s that time if year again!! Volunteer Appreciation Night plans are in the works!! This year’s event is promising to be our BEST one yet! Stay tuned for more information and watch for your invitation in the mail.

Viva Volunteers! Connect, Communicate & Care

Our 1st session was held in January but many of you were unable to attend so we are trying to get Katherine back sometime soon. The SMART method to setting and achieving goals proved very informative and a good time was reported by those who were able to attend.

The second session was on Tuesday March 18th at the Annex with Mary Mitchell from the Learning and Career Centre educating us on how to better cope with change, as it is inevitable in all of our lives.

Our third session will be in May with the topic soon to be announced! If you have any ideas on topics or presenters please give us a call as we are all part of different networks.

For information or to reserve your spot, please call the Volunteer Services Office at 613-687-1641 ext. 2271

In a Nut Shell The Toy Lending Library will be closed until further notice. We will need volunteers to help with the toy inventory and other related tasks. Please call Volunteer Services if you are interested in helping out!

Divine Divas- Ladies Night Out!
Divine Divas was a HUGE success! We raised over $4000.00 for the Crisis Fund. We would like to thank all of the wonderful volunteers and staff who helped out at the event! Our fantastic volunteers helped with ticket sales, draws, the silent auction, serving the food and modelling in the fashion show. We couldn’t have done it without you!
Deployment Volunteering
Because the PMFRC is committed to the recruitment of volunteers to enhance both the Deployment Support programs and the quality of life of the individual CF community member, Volunteer Services will be meeting with the Deployment staff to pre-plan for the up coming deployment. We encourage any interested volunteers to contact us as soon as possible so that we can start working together in preparation for the fall.
File Updating… a Continuous Process!
You may have recently received a phone call or message from a volunteer on our behalf. The purpose of this fan out was to gather updated contact information and email addresses. Updating our volunteer lists is part of this process so if you want new volunteer opportunities or are curious about your status on our current lists, please contact us! Remember, our goal is to keep all your information current, should you have any changes or need to add your email address to our list, please call us (613) 687-1641 ext 2271 or email us at volc.pmfrc@bellnet.ca
BINGO, BINGO, BINGO…
bingoWe always need new volunteers for BINGO! If you have previous Bingo experience as a player or card-seller this would definitely be an asset! But, if you are a fast learner & are willing to commit to this fundraising opportunity we need YOU! There are both daytime and evening bingos and they happen 1-2 times monthly. You must provide your own transportation to Bingo Country. Please give us a call if you want to be a part of this fundraising team!
