Looking for something to do– why not check out these programs? Whether you need your Babysitting Certificate or want to learn to cook we have something for you. Most of these programs are currently being offered through the Rec Plex, but registrations can be done at the South Side Community Centre 613-687-2104 ext 221

battle of the bandsKitchen Sense
This is a one day cooking blow out. Learn how to get creative in the kitchen - Learn kitchen baking tips, bake cookies to take home, snacks throughout the day. Lunch, dessert and drinks are provided.

Babysitter Training (12+) 
Are you 12 years or older and ready for the challenge?  Babysitters are in demand. Turn your spare time into spare CASH, become a CERTIFIED babysitter Earn your babysitting certificate and participate in special workshops.  (Participants must be 12 years of age.).

Home Alone (Youth 10 - 12) 
Learning how to be safe and secure can make you feel more comfortable when you're home alone. This course is designed to help youth look after themselves while they are home alone!!

Teen ProgramsGirls Rule (JUST FOR GIRLS age 10+)
Get pampered, get your 'do (as in hairdo) done, and learn about make-up application and much more. This workshop promotes the importance of healthy body image and self esteem.
Youth at Risk!!
Parents get the hard facts: Even Good Kids are making bad decisions!! The PMFRC staff facilitate, often along with Tom Sydney of Operation Go Home!, this interactive information session regarding what your teenagers are facing in the community.  Teens in our community are using: crystal meth, crack, cocaine and ecstasy. Teens in our community are getting pregnant and contracting sexually transmitted infections. As a parent of a teen learn: how to identify different drugs and paraphernalia, effects that these drugs have on teens, rape facilitated drugs and how to talk to your teens about drugs and sex.
Teens on the Move
Saying goodbye is never easy.  Learn how to hold on to the good times by sharing this program with a special friend.  It's just one more way you can help each other through the tough times.
School Support & Evening Workshops
Upon request, our Youth Services Coordinator will facilitate workshops with educators and group leaders focusing on various teen issues.

Youth Involvement
Teen Council – located at the South Side Community Centre. Get your views heard, get experience and join the teen council. Stand up and be heard, make a difference and have input about teen activities.
