- If I already have reliable care providers for my children can I use them and get the PMFRC to pay for it?
- In order for you to receive funding for Emergency Childcare Services families must use a child care provider or agency that has been hired by the PMFRC.
- Why Should I Have a Child Care Plan?
- An emergency child care plan can ease the stress in your life as well as your child’s; especially, if every individual named in your plan is notified of their responsibility when it comes to the care of your child before an emergency occurs.
- Who do you hire to provide the child care and how do I know my children are safe?
- We hire only experienced child care providers who are fully screened. Emergency Child Care providers meet the minimum requirements set out by the Emergency Child Care Services guidelines. Please note that emergency child care is provided in the Emergency Child Care provider’s home. The screening process includes:
- a criminal records check
- family and children’s services check
- a visit from a representative from the fire department
- First Aid and CPR training
- child abuse awareness training
- monthly spot checks
- How do I access the service?
- This service is available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Who you contact depends on when your emergency occurs. During our regular work hours please call our Emergency Child Care Services office at 613-687-1641 ext 2226 and after hours please call the on-call duty padre at 613-687-5511 local 5611.
